Hoff family correspondence, 1863.

Correspondence includes a letter of July 31, 1863 written on two sheets of paper by Will Hoff to his father, [Wm. Hoff]. Hoff, a corporal in Company I of the 86th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, describes the capture of John Hunt Morgan. One sheet of paper holds a note from Wm. Hoff, to his daughter, along with handwritten copies of a letter from her brother, Clay (Henry C. Hoff), a member of the 93rd O.V.I., describing the Battle of Chattanooga, and a letter from Capt. R[obert] Lysle regarding the death of Will.
